Shred Pax AZ-80 Technical Information

Shredder Applications:
Steel drums, tires, castings, municipal and industrial waste, hazardous waste, pallets, wood waste, etc.
STANDARD FEATURES:
Cutting Chamber:
The AZ-80 shredder offers a large true cutting chamber, 60"x46".  Bulk heads minimize the migration of debris into seals and bearings, thus increasing the durability of the AZ-80.
Drive System:
This machine features electric drives or hydraulic drives.  The electric model has two 40-hp motors.  The hydraulic model is equipped with high torque, low speed, multi cam, radial piston motors.  A common bull gear provides maximum transfer of power from both motors to either shaft for optimum efficiency.  The cutting chamber and drive system can be customized to suit the application.
Knives:
Shred-Pax Engineers design each knife profile and configuration to suite the material for maximum throughputs and optimum shred size.
Control System:
The AZ-80 Control Panel, designed and fabricated by certified Shred-Pax technicians, features illuminated function buttons, keyed power switch, fused lockable disconnect, hour meter and programmable logic control for shredder functions including knife reversal on overload.
Hopper and Stands:
Quality is evident in the workmanship shown in the fabrication of Shred-Pax's extra heavy duty stand and hopper.  The stand and hopper can be modified to suit the application or installation.
Hex Shafts:
The unique design of machined hex shafts maximizes knife placement options.  Size for size the hex shaft is several times stronger than a keyed shaft.  The Shred-Pax hex shaft drive system offers the highest knife tip force of any equivalent shredder on the market.
Maintenance:
Several design refinements have been incorporated into the AZ-80.  The removable fingers from the hopper side, the sleeved bearings and the design of the hexed shafts facilitate ease of parts removal.  The hopper mounting is configured to permit shredder disassembly without hopper removal.  A Shred-Pax proprietary torque setting mechanism provides easy knife-stack tightening.
